Projectの構想段階から実行時、導入後の効果検証まで通してデータ分析による的確な判断によってProjectの成功に貢献します。各Projectには、システムの新規導入や改修を伴うことが多く、そのログデータ分析によるパフォーマンス最適化も重要な役割となります。また、国内外の他部署の分析担当者と情報交換をしながら、様々な指標の比較、分析をすることで新たなビジネスアイディアを発案していくことも有益であり、その窓口としての役割を果たしてもらいます。以下に詳細を記します。

Specifically, we make full use of technology and continue to innovate in speed, cost, and quality, breaking free from traditional Supply Chain Management (SCM) concepts.

In Amazon Japan’s Supply Chain division, we are looking for members responsible for developing this network.

The mission of this position is to implement and execute projects, particularly those related to building Amazon's inventory and transportation network across Japan. Since these network influences upstream processes like procurement and inbound logistics, as well as downstream processes such as shipping and delivery; thus, a holistic understanding of the entire supply chain is required. Also because these network performance is the key input for Amazon which decides what kind of selections we can offer in which areas and how fast or how convenient, you will be expected to collaborate with broader stakeholders outside of SCM department.

• 1) Data Analysis;

During the project conception stage, you will primarily conduct data analysis. You will be responsible for understanding Amazon's complex supply chain and effectively handling vast amounts of data, requiring advanced comprehension and logical thinking skills. If the initial analyses do not yield results, you will be expected to alter your hypotheses and viewpoints, independently drive the hypothesis-testing cycle, and make proposals to the business initiators. Specifically, you will analyze the impacts of changes in procurement / ordering methods and inter-warehouse transportation on inventory placement, as well as the impacts of inventory placement changes on delivery, from both cost and speed perspectives. The analysis results need to be summarized in documents so that all stakeholders with different background can understand the outcome.

Also, in any supply chain transformation initiative at Amazon, system changes will undoubtedly be required. The scope of the systems involved is broad, and system owners may often be based overseas. You will coordinate with system owners to understand the data structure. You will define the relevant metrics to make sure the system changes is going well, also the process to trigger some corrective actions or tunings. You will retrieve necessary data and report them in a timely manner to contribute to maximize the performance.

Most system development in Amazon worldwide are often centralized in the US, and the systems used in Japan generally fall under this category. New systems are usually launched for Amazon US and subsequently rolled out to Amazon locations globally, including Japan. When implementing new systems in Japan, you will work with analytics team in the US or other countries to introduce the worldwide best practice in Japan. Also with considering Japan-specific business contexts, you will compare the various metrics and performance among countries to find the untapped opportunity, and propose them as a new business idea.
