The Technology Platforms Division (TPD) is responsible for building and operating the infrastructure and ecosystem platforms which power the Rakuten Group. The Fraud Prevention Section is a diverse team with members from all over the world. We protect Rakuten Businesses and Members by investigating fraud, and developing high-performing fraud prevention solutions capable of processing high volumes of transactions in real-time. Attack methods are always evolving and so we welcome innovative ideas and value people who take an interest in the latest technology, and share the mindset of protecting our users.

Overall Position Details

As a Project manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple projects of various complexity by yourself through the whole project lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities will be to :

  • Create and maintain a plan, goals and milestones for each project.
  • Be able to understand resource requirements and do the necessary to get the right member assigned by management.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and how to control the budget.
  • Communicate ideas, progress, and results effectively to stakeholders on all levels and ensure their commitment to the projects.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders across the company.
  • Communicate Project status and issues in a clear and timely manner to all impacted teams.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree (BS) in Engineering, Economics, Business, or related field
  • Project management experience (3 years +)
  • Experience in working in cross-cultural development teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence at all levels; adapt style and content to the needs of the audience.
  • Knowledge on project management methodologies
  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall projects
  • Experience with management tools, e.g. JIRA / Confluence
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Prior experience in fraud prevention or security
  • A recognized qualification in project management (e.g. APM, PRINCE2) is desirable
  • Japanese language ability (business proficiency)
