Engineering Director - Global Firm / Up to 24M!

The client is a leading global life insurance and employee benefit company, with 90 million customers in over 60 countries. They are leading the global transformation of an industry they’ve long defined.

In Japan, they have over 50 years of history as the first foreign life insurance company, providing an innovative and broad range of products through diverse distribution channels to individual and institutional customers. There are 60 branches across Japan with a total of 12,000 associates and 500 employees in the technology team now, with an HC plan of 100+. They are seeking an experienced technology leader to drive the transformation that will enable business results, with end to end responsibility, partnering with the business, on the technology strategy and roadmap including the implementation of modern technology to transform client and customer experiences.

Requirements :

• About minimum 10 years in leading software engineering team
• Experience in developing and implementing applications using modern technology stack and patterns.
• Experience and proficient with public cloud like Micorsoft Azure, AI / Big Data, API and web / mobile apps (Java / React)
• Proficiency in software development lifecycle including CI / CD, test driven development, domain driven design and Agile ways of working
• Strong experience in driving digital transformation especially people and cultural transformation via Agile approach
• Fully bilingual, business / fluent level in both Japanese and English
