Job Description :
Responsibilities of the role include :
- General Bookkeeping : Book Japan entity general journals in SAP (accruals, payroll, balance sheet etc).
- AP Processing : Process purchase invoices in SAP and associated clearing entry’s upon payment.
- AR Processing : Process sales invoices from Japan entity to customer in SAP with payment receipt allocation.
- Bank Reconciliation : Book and reconcile bank transactions in SAP. Manage cash balances.
- Intercompany Reconciliation : Manage and reconcile intercompany invoices between Japan and parent entity.
- Inventory Costing : Work with Supply Chain and team to ensure correct pricing and valuation in SAP of stock held by 3rd parties.
- General Finance Administration : Support local Japanese team and assist with queries on vendors, purchase orders, invoices, TE etc.
- FP&A : Assist FP&A team with monthly management accounts, building of budget and latest estimate forecasts.
- Statutory Account Preparation : Work with outsourced accounting provider on external compliance obligations.
- Tax : Assist global tax team on Japanese consumption tax (VAT), data preparation and other tax obligations.
Requirements for the role include :
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a minimum of 8 years of relevant and progressively responsible experience ideally within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.Japanese CPA qualified or other relevant professional accounting qualificationProficient English written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively tailor communication to varying levels within the organization.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Demonstrated accounting and financial reporting experience in an operational environment.Analytical thinker and intellectual curiosity with excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on process improvement and business relevancy.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines and to produce quality work in an organized, timely and efficient manner.Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment and with strong organizational and time management skills in order to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.Special knowledge or skills and / or licenses or certificates preferred.Experience in biotech / pharmaceutical industry.Experience with International subsidiaries and consolidations.Experience with SAP or other relevant ERP systems.Travel requirements - Up to 10%
