Job description

We are seeking an Originator to join our Energy & Natural Resources team in Tokyo. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement energy strategies, enhancing our impact in the energy market.

Description

  • Identify, engage, and build strong relationships with electricity retailers, generators, and trading houses in Japan
  • Lead the end-to-end process of structuring, negotiating, and closing term or framework energy trading deals
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions addressing clients' risk and capital needs
  • Monitor market trends and uncover both organic and inorganic growth opportunities
  • Support corporate branding efforts through sales materials and digital presence
  • Actively seek value chain integration opportunities across the business

Profile

A successful Originator should have :

  • Strong-level Japanese and fluent English
  • Strong experience in the power retail, utility, or commodity trading space, with strong knowledge of the Japanese electricity market
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and sell risk management solutions in the energy sector
  • A well-established network in the Japanese power industry
  • Experience managing complex deal journeys and stakeholder relationships
  • Self-driven with a collaborative mindset and high delivery reliability
  • Bonus : Experience in financial credit analysis, corporate finance, or supply-demand management in energy retails
