About Organization

Cloud Platform Division (CPD) provides cloud platform technologyfor Rakuten Mobile.

Cloud Network Department (CND), part of the CPD team , specializes in networks, which are the core technology of cloud infrastructure. You will be involved in creative and innovative work that advances the mobile network ondaily, together with engineers with advanced cloud technology that is at the core of the world's first "fully virtualized cloud-native mobile network" realized by Rakuten Mobile.

Job Duties

The Network Solution Architect plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of communication and IT services in our on-premises data center. This position involves defining network requirements for each service, proposing optimal network designs to service owners, and executing these designs. Specific responsibilities include :

1.Consulting and Service Design Review

Review the overall design of services, including platforms such as networks, load balancers, firewalls, and Kubernetes (k8s).

Provide network design consulting to service owners and development teams.

2.Network Design and Project Management

Analyze the network design status of service development projects.

Present realistic development timelines based on the analysis of required tasks.

Support project management from new development to platform migration.

3.Interconnection Design with Wide Area Networks

Design the interconnection between services and wide area networks outside the data center.

Collaborate with teams managing wide area networks.

4.Handling Diverse Services

Design networks for IT services and communication services specific to mobile network operators.

Minimum Qualifications

Deep understanding of communication protocols such as TCP / IP.

Knowledge of L2 / L3 switches and routing protocols like BGP.

Experience with platforms such as OpenStack and Kubernetes (k8s).

Basic knowledge of IT system architecture.

5-7 years of experience in the infrastructure domain of the IT industry

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with mobile network nodes.

Knowledge and experience with data center fabric products such as Cisco ACI.

Knowledge and experience with firewall and load balancer products such as F5 and Fortinet.

Knowledge and experience with the internal structure of OpenStack and Kubernetes (k8s).
