【Internal Only】Finance Controller, Portfolio Management Department (RMI Strategy & Product Office)

Description

We are seeking an experiencedprofessional internal to Rakutenresponsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting and budgeting for strategy and product office. The Controller will work with the team and ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Strategy and product office financial data. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate can also have experience in project management and be able to drive initiatives to improve financial performance.

Key Initiatives :

Financial Project Planning & Execution :

Proficiently plan, execute, and deliver financial projects aligned with the company's and organizations strategic goals, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.

Financial Systems Expertise :

Leverage a solid understanding of financial systems and processes to identify and implement cost-saving solutions.

Drive Cost-Saving Initiatives :

Drive cost-saving initiatives , collaborating effectively with diverse teams with a "getting things done" mindset.

Technical Innovation :

Analyze and propose new technical initiatives, particularly leveraging AI, to identify opportunities for financial savings within existing systems.

Stakeholder Communication :

Regularly shareprogress, challenges, plans, and future projections with internal and external stakeholders.

Process Improvement :

Engage stakeholders by recommending changes to existing financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Performance Monitoring :

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial performance, analyzing trends to optimize strategies.

Manage the month-end and year-end budget processes.

Prepare and analyze financial statements like budget etc

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.

Manage the annual audit process.

Provide financial analysis and support to management.

Minimum Qualification :

Minimum 5-6 years of experience in financial management roles.

Preferred Qualification :

Bi-lingual [English + Japanese]

Languages :

English (Overall - 4 - Fluent), Japanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent)
