Job description

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Accountant (Japan). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management for our clients operating within the Japanese market. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and regulations, managing financial operations, and providing strategic financial advice to support business decisions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the full cycle accounting processes for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Japanese GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and tax documents in a timely manner.
  • Oversee accounts payable / receivable, payroll processing, and cash flow management.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations and ensure proper internal controls are in place.
  • Provide strategic insights on financial performance and business planning to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in taxation and financial regulations applicable in Japan.
  • Coordinate and assist in year-end audits and tax returns.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, specifically within the Japanese market.
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken Japanese and English.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and tax
  • Experienced SAP knowledge
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
  • Good communication skills in both Japanese and English
