Department Overview

Rakuten Kobo is a global eReading service with one of the largest eReading catalogues in the world.

The service has many users and is a major player in Japanese e-book industry which has been growing rapidly.

We will strengthen overseas distribution not only in Japan but also mainly in Asia, North America, and Europe, and utilize the Rakuten Ecosystem to create value that can only be realized with Rakuten Kobo.

In addition to operating e-books, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from content production to RPA construction and overseas distribution. We are actively strengthening overseas expansion as a project promotion leader, not just operational work, so you can play an active role globally.

Position Details

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Rakuten Kobo's operational operations, working with the relevant department in Toronto and the outsourcing company to continually improve operations and ensure stable store operations. With the expansion of overseas distribution, it is possible to be active globally.

  • General distribution work

E-book distribution operations using Toronto's content management system, system improvement proposals, etc.

  • Operation of R-TOON app

    • Oversight of distribution-related operations in collaboration with external vendors. We will be in charge of building various operational flows for new development.

  • Management of outsourcing members(business management, stable operation, smooth collaboration)
  • Compatible with publishers

    • Business support for new distribution, updates, advance distribution, creation of special editions, etc.

    Work Environment

    It consists of mid-career (different industries), new graduates.

  • 4 new graduates professionals

    • Mandatory Qualifications :

  • communication ability
  • Experience in building and improving business processes
  • PC literacy(Power Point, Excel, Word)
  • Those who are comfortable with English.

    • Desired Qualifications :

  • Management / human resource development experience
  • People who are highly interested in books, magazines, comics, and digital content.
  • Those who have hospitality skills and can promote business with a sense of responsibility
  • Those who have the ability to think about things from many angles / perspectives
  • Business-level English
