Department Overview
Our mission is to build the growth foundation for Rakuten Group's global businesses. Management and governance enhancement of existing overseas business portfolios, support for group's key strategic businesses, and new business development. As it is a department directly under the vice president, you can work closely with the management team.
Depending on your abilities, you will be responsible for any of the following duties. We actively provide training such as OJT, and new graduates and young talents are also playing an active role.

Position Details
Core Task
- Initiation, promotion, solution planning, and solution implementation for problem-solving projects in overseas businesses
The scope includes not only resolving negative events but also setting challenges and implementing measures for further development
Business Scope
Rakuten's existing overseas businesses (Focus as of 2025 : Telecommunications, E-commerce, Digital Content, Affiliate)New business development (Focus as of 2025 : India, APAC region)Task Example
Problem-solving / business growth support through collaboration with overseas local teams (including those based on requests from local or headquarters executives)Collaboration with headquarters departments and support for the introduction of headquarters policies to overseas local teamsInformation gathering, analysis, and reporting on overseas business portfolios and key risks (including executive meeting management and regular executive reports)Market research, industry knowledge collection, and analysisCollaboration and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders (networking with external companies and embassies, regular meetings with overseas business local PICs, etc.)Overseas operational practical support for the above purposes (headquarters approval acquisition support, operational improvement)Mandatory Qualifications :
