Purpose : To lead the delivery of a three-year, trust-funded project focused on advancing 1.5°C-aligned transition finance frameworks in Japan and Indonesia. The Project Manager will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project delivery, ensuring strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and performance tracking are executed to the highest standards of professional project management.
Duties and responsibilities :
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain robust governance structures, including RAID logs, RACI matrices, and regular reporting to senior leadership.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure cohesive delivery and alignment with project goals.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement across Japan and Indonesia, ensuring clear communication and collaborative problem-solving.
- Monitor project performance using KPIs and project management tools, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
- Manage risks proactively, identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain project integrity.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, including budget tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Champion project management best practices, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.
- Implement and ensure the smooth operation of project level monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks, including data gathering, analysis and dissemination.
Requirements
Essential :
Fluent in English and Japanese.Working in European / Asian Time zonesSubstantial project management experience in professional project management; Formal training or certification in project management (e.g. PMP, AMPQ, PRINCE2)Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.Proven ability to manage multi-year projects with diverse stakeholders.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in cross-cultural environmentsDesirable :
Experience working in international development or climate-related projects.Familiarity with donor reporting and grant compliance.Experience in climate finance, energy transition, or policy advocacy.Eligible to work in Japan.Experience of working in or with Japanese institutionsKnowledge of Bahasa Indonesia or experience working in Indonesia.Benefits
