In this role, you will be responsible for working with our business partners and product teams to understand the requirements that drive the technology solutions we will deploy and analyze key requirements needed. You will engage in the testing cycles of those solutions to align and drive that the design meets the original set of expectations. You are part of a global team that is consistently looking at ways to enhance the experience for guests, from planning their trip to their in park visit, to their post return while driving the best experience all around.

As part of the Digital and Technology team, you will work in a global and multinational team atmosphere, with team members that come to work with us, from various countries. You will engage with not only team members but with multinational vendors that support our destinations and experiences across the globe. So be prepared, as our primary language to operate in is English, daily; however, having other languages, like Japanese is a plus, for local communications.

After joining the company, you will gain a basic understanding of the latest technology for our theme parks and overall in park ride solutions. Not to worry, we will work with you to refine your business system analysis skills. Your role will be responsible for reporting to management both in Japan and within the US. Regardless of your length of service, you will be involved in operations with other parks around the world and will be able to grow significantly.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Software Engineer - Front End role is responsible for defining, developing, and delivering secure, reliable, scalable, and optimized front end applications in adherence with coding standards and practices. This engineering role will collaborate with engineers, testers, architecture, product, PMO, third-party vendor partners and support teams to ensure continued program alignment, and successful release of the high-quality products.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Create code to contribute toward delivery of project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Master, RTE, Product, and Architecture teams on delivery and release management processes.
  • Work with the team to estimate, design, and develop project deliverables including technical details and peer code reviews.
  • Plan and execute short-term tactical plans and long-term strategic goals and for managing and maintaining web technologies.
  • Triage defects found during software development and quality assurance cycles to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Support Release Management and Change Control processes to support the integration and deployment of application features.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or abilities (KSAs) required.

Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

  • 5+ years equivalent work experience preferred in front-end or full-stack application development. Conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques required. Good presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills preferred.
  • Strong understanding of core JavaScript and / or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, ES6+, MV libraries such as Angular, React, Vue.js.
  • Strong understanding of E2E Internet application architecture including browser concepts, HTTP, REST, and Security best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (including the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience)
  • Proficient experience in the following.
  • 1.) Large-scale enterprise system development and integration.

    2.) Agile, Scrum, and Scaled Agile Framework a plus

    3.) Accessibility / ADA Compliance; AA, W3, etc.

    4.) Mature SDLC, GIT, and NPM publishing techniques.

    5.) Back-end technologies, Java and .NET.

    6.) Functional and automated testing and focused on quality engineering.

    7.) CI / CD, Unit Testing, Linting, and Code Coverage. 8.) Object orientated and procedural programming.

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Information Technology, Computer Programming and Analysis, Industrial Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE

    Proficient in Japanese and English
