About Organization

The Technical Standards department consists of an expert team driving international standardization activities, with a primary focus on contributions to 3GPP / O-RAN and other relevant domestic and global standardization bodies.

Establish and promote open and interoperable telecom standards, contributing to the advancement of the overall telecommunications industry.

To strengthen Rakuten Mobile's technical leadership through active involvement in standardization activities, aiming to realize an open and intelligent future network.

Job Duties

Contribute to 5G / 6G standards in the area of RF / RRM or Core Network (e.g., 3GPP RAN1 / 2 / 4 or SA / CT) by developing contributions and change requests

Contribute to regional standards activity in Japan (e.g. ARIB, TTC)

Drive Rakuten Mobile standards strategy creation process across organizational structures

Minimum Qualifications

5 Years Experience of working on 3GPP Technologies LTE or NR (Radio, Core).

Fluent Japanese and English skills, both written and verbally, are required.

Preferred Qualifications

System and standards experience in the technical areas of 4G / 5G RF / RRM or Core Network

A background with an Masters degree or Ph.D., or equivalent

Fast analytical and abstraction capabilities.

Ability to adapt quickly to new conditions and actively manage such changes

Team worker.

Willingness to travel abroad.
