Amazon Japan is seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Communications Manager to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that enhance our brand reputation and align with our business objectives. This role involves managing external communications, crisis management, and collaborating with senior leadership to effectively convey Amazon's mission and values to diverse stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integrated communication strategies that support Amazon Japan's objectives and priorities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, ensuring swift and clear responses to protect and enhance Amazon's reputation.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling content, including press releases, speeches, presentations, and social media posts.
  • Plan and execute press conferences, media briefings, and other events that promote Amazon's brand and products.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including customers, partners, and government entities, to promote understanding and support for Amazon's initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 10 + years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful communication strategies for large organizations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Strong media relations experience with established contacts in the Japanese media landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crisis communications effectively.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of policy-making process in Japan and / or experience in government relation / public advocacy.
  • Experience in the technology, retail industry.
  • Experience working in a global organization with cross-cultural communication responsibilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
