Introduction

iRobot is seeking a Senior Logistics Specialist. Primary Role is to realize “Streamline” logistics through designing and executing iRobot Logistics Strategy. Also, this role is required to build up long-term relationship with logistics service providers (W / H, distribution operators and forwarding agents) for achieving iRobot Logistics strategy goals, as a main contact and to continue “Kaizen” activities.

  • This Senior Logistics Specialist has major 6 key functions;

Make sure to run daily logistics operations going smoothly co-operating with other related departments (Sales, Sales Ops, Supply Planning, Quality Control, etc.)

Check inventory is controlled properly at W / H and coordinate auditing with internal and external auditors

Execute iRobot Logistics Strategy - Promotion of various projects management (e.g. new warehouse launch, new product introduction and forwarding partner changes)

Manage import logistics compliance including the Japan custom regulation co-working with forwarding agents

Act as the main liaison with forwarding agents to build a relationship to achieve iRobot Logistics Strategy Goals

Drive logistics cost reduction projects (Kaizen Activity) through setting and managing KPI

Essential Functions / Job Duties :

  • Review and build up current Logistics Strategy to realize “Streamline” Logistics
  • Take initiative on logistics projects (e.g. network study, new product introduction) based on the Logistics Strategy
  • Ensure daily logistics activity is running smoothly by co-working with Supply Planner, Quality Control and Sales Ops as peer teamInventory status controlStock transfer to balance the inventory position in each siteInventory reconciliationPurchase materials like carton, sticker and etc.Rework / refurbishment activitiesWrite off and scrapping activities
  • Build up firm relationship with logistics providers (W / H, distribution operators and forwarding agents) to achieve company goal
  • Analyze and Report Logistics Cost, Service Level and Quality by setting-up &check KPI and Build up continuous improvement plan
  • Organize and lead regular meetings with logistics providers and related company departments and give the action items to team members
  • Work closely with Global Logistics Team and drive logistics cost reduction projects.
  • Make sure inventory is controlled properly through daily operations and coordinate monthly / Quarterly / Yearly auditing with internal and external auditors
  • Integral decision maker on the efficient support of internal customers within DtC, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Finance and our HQ management.
  • Internalize “Builder’s Code” which is iRobot Credo launched in FY2020 and serve as a good role model
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields, MBA and advance studies a plus
  • More than 3 years’ experience in supply chain management which includes 3PL management, Import / export logistics, logistics efficiency improvement, inventory control, sales related experiences a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in business level English and fluent in Japanese. Also, experience working with Global Companies within different time zones is appreciated
  • Experience in logistics projects such as forwarder replacement, warehouse relocation, WMS implementation, and logistics network optimization is highly valued
  • Project management skills with various parties is recommended
  • Prior experience with Oracle or similar ERP system project experiences a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manipulate and summarize data in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required for interacting at all levels within the organization
  • Self-starter, results driven and team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, assign effective priorities to tasks and to operate with a certain level of autonomy is needed
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism
  • Proficiency with MSOffice (Word, PPT, Excel), programing and related skill (VBA, BI tool and etc.) a plus
  • Some Travel Required in domestic and international on a case-by-case basis
