Global Investment Research, Research Analyst / Associate, Tokyo Job Description

Global Investment Research Division delivers value-added research to clients in the equity, fixed ie, currency andmodities markets. Goldman Sachs develops global client-focused research in economics, portfolio strategy, derivatives and equity and credit securities. Our clients use these insights and investment ideas to develop their strategies.

We produce original, fundamental research and analysis of industries,panies and economies. Our research teams continually identify and analyze financial information, strategic issues and trends that affectpanies, industries and markets on a regional and global scale.

Equity Research analyzes macro, sector andpany fundamentals to identify investment opportunities for the stocks we cover globally.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

We are looking for an Analyst / Associate to join our Equity Research Team in Tokyo.

Principal responsibilities include :

  • Providing support to single stock research analysts
  • Building, maintaining and updatingpany forecast and valuation models
  • Analyzing market share, macro trend, and crosspany and sub sector data analysis
  • Write research notes onpanies under coverage
  • Working onpany / sector-specific projects
  • Conducting statistical analysis of economic data, fundamentals, and relevant correlations of the data
  • Update market and industry data and marketing presentations
  • Working closely with Content Management Group to ensure timely publication of research reports
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from clients, Sales and Traders

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • University degree (finance, accounting major preferable)
  • 1~3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills in English and Japanese
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work / conduct independently and with limited supervision
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to perform financial statement, business and valuation analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to think laterally and exercise good judgment
  • Self-starter attitude with high level of enthusiasm for equity research.
