Salary Range : ¥5.1M – ¥9.6M annually
Fixed Overtime Allowance : Includes compensation for up to 42 hours / month (¥106,000 – ¥188,000)

About the Role
As part of the CTO Office’s R&D Group, you will work across departments to drive our core technology initiatives. This includes designing robust system architectures, contributing to open-source development, and working on high-impact projects in collaboration with government and industry leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement full-stack web applications (frontend & backend)
Lead system architecture and infrastructure design
Improve development environments and CI / CD pipelines
Address and reduce technical debt
Develop and maintain OSS (open-source software) libraries
Collaborate across technical and business teams to deliver scalable solutions
Support government and large-scale public projects (e.g., Project PLATEAU, Project LINKS)
Prototype and deliver proof-of-concept (PoC) systems
Integrate AI and automation for operational efficiency
Monitor and maintain systems post-deployment
Projects & Impact
You will contribute to meaningful technology initiatives including :
Digital transformation support for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism
Social impact projects solving urban planning and infrastructure challenges
Advanced R&D cases in global technology forums and open data platforms
Required Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of experience designing, developing, and operating web applications (any language)
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
Proficient in development environment setup and tool selection
Strong understanding of both frontend and backend technologies
Experience working in collaborative, team-based environments
Passion for innovation, open-source, and problem-solving at scale
Preferred (Bonus) Skills
Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects
Knowledge of GIS or 3D graphics technologies
Familiarity with CI / CD tools, monitoring systems, and cloud services
Exposure to AI integration in web platforms
