Job description

Leads all aspects of project execution including system layout, vendor / contractor management, equipment procurement, schedule management, project objectives, scoping & costing, and project field installation support / management.

Maintains a wide network of contacts internally and externally including subject matter experts, local regulators, consultants, and suppliers as well as business contacts in fields that support project execution. This position will work directly with the site manager, leaders, and associates on a regular basis.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø Office project work : perform engineering calculations as required for design / documentation. Creates detailed engineering drawings as pertains to assigned projects.

Ø Office project admin work : prepare scope of work, timekeeping, management discussion meetings, equipment specifications, solicit vendor / contractor quotes, project costing, purchasing, project budget management, project schedules, turnover documentation.

Ø Project field work : issue and manage permits to work, coordinate contractor services, work with those related to the project, insuring compliance with company safety policies to project activities, site visits and inspections.

Ø Maintaining compliance with Management of Change, Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity programs.

Ø Ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices and provide detailed documentation upon project completion.

Ø Project Management : Follows up on pending items, tracks project progress and stays current on project status and milestones.

Ø Assesses and responds to critical process issues and troubleshoot production engineering problems as needed.

Ø Participates and makes contributions in a “team” environment in working through project opportunities, and as process knowledge grows, participate in discussions related to Process Engineering.

Ø Actively participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company including use and maintenance of appropriate PPE. Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

v BS in Mechanical / Industrial / Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree.

v 5 – 10 years of relevant project engineering experience within discipline.

v Electrical and Instrumentation experience a plus.

v Strong organizational and management skills; ability to lead and influence others for timely completion of project activities within agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of tasks / projects.

v Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to requests, as well as collaborate with others to utilize resources and knowledge of others in identifying solutions.

v Working knowledge to utilize Windows-based PC with various software - Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point.

v Autodesk Vault, AutoCad, Microsoft Project and MP2 skills a plus.

v Possess highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with others.
