Objectives :
Based on the brand / functional plan, develop an MSL action plan through scientific engagement and teach and coach MSLs. Enhance daily MSL activities to contribute to the creation of scientifically important evidence. As a member of OFIMA (International Medical Affairs), work collectively to make a significant impact on patient care. Enhance the scientific and communicative capabilities of MSLs.
Summary of Job Description :
- Manage and lead a team of MSL (8 MSL’s)
- Teach and coach direct reports (MSLs) to deliver scientific engagement well
- Create and articulate medical educational strategy
- Regional KEE’s management with scientific communication
- Regional Speaker Identification and Development
- Implement publication strategy through IIS executions
- Develop scientific projects in partnership with health care practitioners
- Support regional training for sales team related science
- Reinforce brand message through the dissemination of clinical data
- Comprehensive coverage of medical congresses
Major Responsibilities :
Support MSLs to deliver KEE (Key External Expert) managementCoach MSLs in order to :
Cultivate and develop scientific engagement with Medical Target KEEsUnderstand the needs of developing strategic KEE interaction planning, develop the strategic interaction plan appropriatelyCultivate and maintain relationships with KEEs prior to product launch through Multi-channel communication plan with KEEsProvide scientific information and have a discussion with KEEsProvide accurate TA (Therapeutic Area) knowledge and scientific message to KEEs (non-product)Gain DPOs (Data Point Observations) through scientific discussionsSupport MSLs to deliver coordination Investigator Initiated Study (IIS) following new SOP (Contract-Based IIS)Coach MSLs in order to :
Get information of IIS plan with AbbVie products and may proceed further AbbVie process with limited support
Understanding AbbVie IIS processTake a role of SME (Subject Matter Expert) in proceeding the IIS processSupport other departments in scientific point of viewProvide scientific informationActive participation and effective communication for product maximization cross functionallyUnderstand Brand Plan and Medical Plan for execution in the field
Provide feedback from the field after implementation of the functional planIdentify appropriate KEEs for tactical action in Medical plan by understanding the target KEE's profile, treatment policy and / or his / her point of viewOne R&D collaboration (as needed)Understand the local action plan and its objectives to support clinical development

Essential Skills & Abilities / Education :
Must have an undergraduate degree in science or pharmacologyStrong people management skills with people coaching skillsExhibits sound decision making and communication skillsMasters in Science or PhD preferredExperience in Pharmaceutical industry in Clinical Development, Safety department or research experience more than 3 years preferredAffluent and accurate senses about pharmaceutical marketDrive for ResultsStrong human relationship with people outside (especially KEEs)High reputation among people inside and outsideCorrect expression of view as to right or wrong of thingsClear recognition / discipline of performance
