The Job

  • The QM&RA Director will manage all Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs activities in Japan & Korea and report to the APAC Sr. Regional Quality and Food Safety Manager.
  • The QM&RA Director will do his / her work with two team members and must manage and educate them well.
  • The QM&RA Director must have good collaboration with other related departments for their respective projects.

Your Responsibilities

  • The QM&RA Director will identify and define the quality / food safety and regulatory affairs strategy and program, set goals and targets, and lead the team to achieve them.
  • The QM&RA Director will manage the Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs activities together with team members.
  • Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs are handled by a single department at ADM Japan, each with their own reporting line, and indirectly reporting to the President of ADM Japan.
  • The QM & RA Director will work with SCM to manage the supplier and OEM audits. Support and coordinate customer audits to ensure satisfactory results.
  • The QM&RA Director will facilitate organizational learning from deviations and ensure that identified deficiencies are addressed through corrective actions. Monitor and escalate issues to management as required.
  • The QM&RA Director will train the team members.
  • The QM&RA Director will communicate with ADM's overseas bases and participate in global projects.
  • The QM&RA Director will work with other departments to deal with various issues such as customer complaints.
  • Your Profile

  • Working Experience in Quality Assurance or Regulatory Affairs at multinational company is essential.
  • Reporting Experience to an overseas superior is essential.
  • Experience working in a matrix managed organization is preferred.
  • Working in a large multinational company and cross functional communication experience is important.
  • High diversity experience is essential.
  • Cross functional organization knowledge or experience are essential.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality Management or Regulatory Affairs area is essential.
  • Minds to acquire new knowledge and create new rules are important.
  • Should be a person who can take a chance to improve.
  • Experience reviewing laws and regulations and resolving as necessary based on current circumstances is important.
  • Experience implementing corrective actions is essential.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement is essential.
  • Experience conducting and being audited management systems and operations audits is important.
  • Experience communicating with customers directly to resolve issues is important.
  • People management skills and experience are essential.
  • Time management / closing schedule management is important.
  • Project managing skills / experience is important.
  • Ability to drive initiatives and lead to change current organization / operation flow is important. Because this company is in the step of transformation.
  • Communication between departments or countries is important. Must keep good relations with SCM, Sales, CD&D and others.
  • B to B business or Food manufacturing or Food related industry experience is important.
  • Knowledge of import business is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Korean laws and regulations is a plus
  • Because this company controls business in Korea also.
  • Knowledge of and operational experience in quality / food safety management systems is preferred.
  • Experience in crisis management is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s and / or master’s degree in science, Agriculture or Engineering is preferred.
  • PC / IT skill is necessary (Excel / PowerPoint, group software).
  • Language skills – written and verbal in both Japanese and English for day-to-day business interface are essential. Japanese language ability to understand Japanese laws and regulations in the original text is essential.
