Job Summary

Job Title : Bilingual Scrum Master

Job Description :

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bilingual Scrum Master to join our IT team. The Scrum Master will be responsible for facilitating Agile practices within the team, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions while bridging language and cultural gaps between Japanese stakeholders and the development team. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities in both Japanese and English, and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies.

Main Responsibilities :

1. Schedule meetings with Japanese stakeholders and facilitate effective communication to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements.

2. Gather application details and provide Japanese to English translation support within the team.

3. Prepare Japanese documents and presentations as required for project documentation and communication purposes.

4. Coordinate schedules and publish updates to teams in both English and Japanese.

5. Assist with translation for knowledge transfer sessions and prepare documentation as needed.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, guiding them through the Scrum framework and ensuring adherence to Agile principles.

2. Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

3. Assist the team in identifying and removing impediments to ensure smooth project progress.

4. Foster a collaborative and productive environment, promoting continuous improvement within the team.

5. Work closely with Product Owners to ensure a clear understanding of project goals and priorities.

6. Monitor team performance metrics and ensure effective use of Agile tools and processes.

Coach and mentor team members on Agile best practices and principles.

Ensure transparency and effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.

Top Skills Needed :

1. Bilingual Capability : Must be able to speak Japanese with local development team leaders, business stakeholders, and legacy app vendors. Proficiency in English is required for communication with Tech Leads and offshore resources.

2. Azure DevOps and Development Knowledge : Ability to understand the concepts of building DevOps pipelines and address issues when moving applications to a cloud platform.

3. Project Management Tasks : Experience in creating and maintaining status reports, tracking daily tasks, and coordinating meetings with application owners to ensure project schedules are met. Serve as a bridge between development leaders, Technical Leads, and offshore resources.
