As Zoom's Technical Writing team expands, we are seeking a Technical Writer who can create native-level Japanese content for the Japanese market. You will collaborate with global departments and team members to drive projects forward, leveraging your English communication skills to create and localize technical content specifically tailored for the Japanese market. This role is Tokyo based.
Job Description
In the Japanese market, culturally appropriate technical content is essential for customer success and Zoom portfolio penetration. The role requires understanding of both technical concepts and Japanese business practices.
The ideal candidate is self-driven with technical background in Unified Communications (UC and telephone systems), Contact Centers (CC), Service Providers (SP), Security and AI. Beyond globally used platforms and products, experience and understanding of locally accepted solutions, products, vendors and service providers in Japan are crucial elements for success.
Key Responsibilities
Design, creation and management of technical documentation and training materials for internal and external use
Understanding and documentation of product features in collaboration with Product Management and Engineering teams
Design, creation and management of visual materials, diagrams, and flowcharts for technical sales teams
Review of useful information for Solution Engineering teams and determining optimal delivery methods
Collaboration with cross-functional teams
Creation of demo content stories and localization at the Tokyo Executive Briefing Center
What we’re looking for :
Must have :
Proficient Japanese and English communication skills (This is tokyo based role.)
Over 3 years of technical documentation experience in enterprise software documentation
Knowledge of AI, LLM, UC (telephone systems), contact centers, and cloud architecture
Understanding of Japanese market IT standards / regulations and ability to culturally adapt technical content
Nice - to - have :
Experience in creating visual documentation using collaboration tools such as Confluence, Coda, and Product boards
Expert knowledge of Zoom products and solutions
