Purpose of Role :
The Sector Sales Specialist distributes the SPDR Select Sector ETFs, drives Sector fund adoption and owns business results as part of the Sector ETF Sales Specialist team. The Sector Sales Specialist will partner with our Client Coverage Group to drive Select Sector ETF engagement within the Japanese market. This position champions the strategic growth of SPDR’s US Sector ETF products across Japan, by supporting the Client Coverage team as a subject matter expert at a product specific and market level, across the sales cycle, including the provision of support of distribution activities centred on prospecting through to closing business and retention. This includes partnering with the Sector Research Strategists, the SSGA Client Coverage and marketing teams to author, communicate and provide detailed technical expertise on investment strategies and how such strategies can be implemented by our clients.
Major Responsibilities :
Your specific responsibilities will include :
Tracking developments among external factors that influence US Sectors
Identifying emerging trends in the global Sector market across the business cycle
Monitoring changing trends in asset allocation.
Providing regular updates on movements in Sector prices and their cause, correlation among Sector and other assets and changes in relative volatility
Providing regular updates and highlights of US SPDR Sector ETFs versus competitors, including liquidity comparisons
Developing potential new arguments in support of the tactical, strategic, and practical uses of US Sectors along with collateral and support material.
Working closely with the SSGA Client Coverage team to increase penetration of US Sector ETFs across the Institutional and Intermediary client segments.
Education and Experience :
Minimum 7 years’ experience in the financial services industry, ideally with experience in Japan
Experience working on the buy or sell side with Sector or exchange traded funds.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working for, or marketing to, institutional and intermediary investors.
Experience and understanding of financial markets trading structure.
Intimate knowledge of mechanics of trading Sectors
Knowledge of the exchange traded fund marketplace locally in Japan and globally and the mechanics of ETF trading.
Experience writing investment research.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Detailed knowledge of options available on SPDR Sector shares
CFA preferred
Prefer to have JSDA type 1 license. (Need to have JSDA type 1 license after joining the company)
Holds appropriate SFC licenses
Specific Technical Knowledge / Qualifications :
Strong investment knowledge including Sector, ETF‘s, Segregated Mandates, Managed Funds and Model Portfolios including the related technical understanding.
Advanced communication and client relationship management skills.
Prior experience engaging with media.
Proven ability to provide fresh insights and new ways of approaching issues based on past experiences, a global perspective, and well-articulated facts and reasoning.
