We are seeking an Inside Sales Specialist, located in Nagoya, Japan.

How you will make a difference @ FARO

  • Contact potential customers to qualify leads. Provide required information and schedule product demonstrations. Determine demonstration requirements based on a range of factors including applications, geography and staff availability. Communicate information concerning demonstration requirements and coordinate schedules with potential customers and outside sales staff as appropriate. Document records regarding potential customer in computer database.
  • Generate revenues by providing ongoing customer contact and by closing opportunities.

Assist with lead generation through cold calling and obtaining referrals in conjunction with marketing staff and other resources tonsure that assigned territories have sufficient leads and opportunities in order to generate demos.

  • Facilitate communications among the sales team. Make recommendations for improving the sales process, approach and systems.
  • Pick-up inbound call and answer customers’ inquiries.
  • Communicate with existing customers to follow-up warranty renewal.
  • Support Account Manager by communicating with customers and internal staff.
  • Inform existing and potential customers on promotion / sales events.
  • Send product information to existing and potential customers.
  • This position requires

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) sales, inside sales, or marketing.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in Japanese company or in Japan; 3+ years preferred.
  • Call center experience is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated proven effectiveness in working in a fast-paced environment and stay current on technical product developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome sales barriers.
  • Excellent Japanese communication skills (speaking and writing).
  • Good English communication skills (reading and writing; minimum TOEIC score of 500 preferred).
  • Superior time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience with customer databases, CRM (e.g., Goldmine, SalesForce, etc.) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient internet search skills to prospect for customers.
  • Comfortable working with a base salary plus commission.
  • Demonstrated ability to attain and exceed quotas on a regular basis.
  • Ability to establish excellent working rapport with external sales representatives, other team members and customers.
  • Understanding of Japanese business culture and mindset of people who work in exclusively Japanese environment.
  • Proactive and adaptable in acquiring new skills.
