As a leading resourcing partner in the Asia region, Novus Precision Partners are proud to be working with an accomplished motorsports racing team partnering with an exciting sports car brand debuting in the Japanese market. We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to help us build our dealer operations from the ground up and lead our team in Japan, as well as to support the operations of our racing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of automotive operations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
General Management :
Oversee all aspects of the business' day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows, managing staff, and maintaining high customer satisfactionEnsure cars are delivered, inspected and serviced according to the highest standards of customer serviceHire, train and supervise operations staff, ensuring the team is motivated and held accountable to performance expectationsEnsure the business' workshop, facilities and equipment are maintained properly and presentable for customer visitsOversee basic administrative functions of the business (accounting, finance, legal, etc.) with support from group level staffInventory & Logistics Management :
Ensure smooth and timely delivery of customer car and parts orders in coordination with suppliers and logistics partnersManage stock and orders of parts to anticipate customer needsFinancial Management :
Work alongside leadership team to develop annual budget and financial planningEnsure the business' costs are effectively managed in line with the annual budgetProvide regular financial reporting detailing revenue and operational costs to senior managementProcess Improvement & Efficiency :
Implement and evaluate processes to improve efficiency and optimize workflowsIdentify inefficiencies or blockers to process and resolve them in a timely mannerRequired Qualifications
Education : University degree or relevant vocational degree / certification
Experience :
10+ years of experience in automotive retail or distributionProven experience in a leadership roleFamiliarity with all aspects of dealership operationsSkills :
Excellent leadership, problem solving, and analytical skillsAbility to manage a team across multiple business functionsCustomer-oriented mindsetStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information to group-level stakeholdersBasic understanding of automotive engineering and mechanical service requirementsFluency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken).Desired Qualifications
