Shangri-La Tokyo, recognized as the flagship of the Shangri-La Group, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales and Marketing to lead our Sales and Marketing team and enhance our market presence.

Job Overview

The Director of Sales and Marketing in Shangri-La Tokyo is responsible for the hotel sales and marketing functions and their relationship and coordination within the hotel and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts to maximize market share and optimize profit return. The Director of Sales and Marketing will be deeply involved in the opening project of Shangri-La Kyoto Nijojo, which is set to open in Q4 2026, and will also drive the business of the Global Sales Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Performance Management Lead and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team.
  • Strategic Planning & Market Development Identify and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market reach.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Develop and manage annual sales and marketing budgets, ensuring profitability and financial targets are met.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Digital Marketing & Data Analytics Leverage digital tools, CRM systems, and market analytics to enhance customer engagement and revenue generation.
  • Training & Development Mentor and upskill team members to enhance capabilities and performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing or in a similar leadership role, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector but not the must.
  • Proven track record in driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Successful leadership experience in Japan is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, CRM tools, and data analytics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
