This position belongs to the advertising operations department within the Rakuten Marketing Department, where specialists in listing ads / SNS ads work closely with advertiser sales (marketing consultants) to maximize advertising effectiveness by communicating with Google, Yahoo, Meta, and our global partners.

Amid the full-scale progress of cookie regulations, we are recruiting personnel to achieve further business growth through full-funnel solutions utilizing first-party data (Rakuten ID data) based on factual information such as Japan's largest purchase information and credit card transaction information, as well as unique and advanced global solutions and our own media network, which are exclusively handled in Japan.

Position Details

This position is a management candidate for the relevant department. You will lead the department that provides operational advertising services to clients using Google, Yahoo, META, LINE, X, and Rakuten Group's inventory, utilizing Rakuten data and the world's most advanced AI optimization tools to solve customer issues.

    Clients include large-scale EC companies within the top 50 in Japan, major Fintech companies, and key businesses of the Rakuten Group, which is one of the largest advertisers in Japan.

    When Rakuten Group's businesses are clients, you can engage in upstream data analysis and strategy planning as a member of the business side's marketing team, not just as an agency.

    You will closely communicate with the operations team of our global partner FINCH, allowing you to quickly acquire overseas improvement methods, trends, and perspectives.

    You can propose and implement unique measures utilizing Rakuten's unique group assets, such as distribution and analysis using Rakuten data, which other agencies do not have.

    Each operational consultant handles an average of 6-8 clients, forming teams for each project.

    Typically, each client is handled by a team of two salespeople and one operational consultant.

    Partial List of General Duties Performed by the Entire Department

    Identifying marketing issues for clients and planning strategies and tactics to solve them

    Communicating with internal and external stakeholders necessary for executing strategies and tactics

    Creating execution plans through communication and managing progress during the execution phase

    Operating and managing affiliate ads, influencer ads, listing ads, display ads, etc.

    Media planning centered on affiliate ads

    Proposing improvements based on data (reporting, regular meetings with clients)

    Planning communication strategies centered on creatives such as banners / LPs

    Planning communication strategies (target, KPI, customer journey, media plan, etc.) through analysis of advertising effectiveness, market research results, customer / purchase data

    Planning strategies, selecting media, operating ads, managing budgets, and reporting with a full-funnel perspective

    Deep understanding of customers and discovering insights based on data analysis

    Presenting proposals and participating in competitions

    Actively solving customer issues using AI and the latest industry technologies

  • Work Environment

    This position is assigned to the Rakuten Marketing Japan Department, an organization of about 200 people, with over 50% being sales positions.

    The overall mid-career hire rate exceeds 70%, with employees from diverse career backgrounds actively working.

    The department (group) to which you will be assigned as a management candidate consists of 1 manager, 2 assistant managers, 1 leader, and about 30 members (as of October 2024).

    90% of the members are from well-known domestic digital agencies, and 10% are new graduates from Rakuten. The average tenure is over 5 years, making it a rewarding department (group) with a well-balanced member composition.

    Mandatory Qualifications :

  • Management experience (even a small team is acceptable)
