Job Summary :

Wholly responsible for HMJ’s all marketing and sales activities. Supervising the local staff, he / she should achieve significant increase in sales and strengthen the strategic relationship with the current / prospective customers in Japan (such as HORIBA ADVANTEC N,K etc.) while further developing the current business in the semiconductor industry as well as additional segments. This person will also be expected to be a strong leader to focus and aggressively develop new businesses of the Ham-Let products in the general Process industry (other than the semiconductor industry, such as Oil & Gas , petrochemical, energy, analytical instrumentation, car industries, alternative energy ,food, etc.)

Additional important task is to build a bridge and improve the collaboration and working processes with the headquarter

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Further enhance and strengthen the relationship with both current and potential customers accounts as well as sales via distribution channels, maximizing the growth potential of the company in the Japanese market.
  • Keep and monitor the company profitability
  • Participate in / contribute to key corporate decision making process.
  • Develop and implement sales plans that incorporate the strategies necessary to achieve targets in both the short and long term.
  • Provide overall direction and leadership to the sales / marketing functions and ensure that sales strategies are consistent with the Ham-Let group global international strategy and are capable of being translated into actionable and value-added activity.
  • Develop strong key account management disciplines to nurture strong customer relationships.
  • Develop, expand and revitalize the distribution channels & networks.
  • Close communication and cooperation with all senior management members of Ham-let Group worldwide, effectively utilizing the matrix organization management.
  • Be part of the Ham-let global leadership team that will determine the long term strategy of the company.
  • Strength relationship and partnership with the headquarter, create “ONE COMPANY” atmosphere and working methods between Japan and the headquarters and rest of Ham-Let group.

Korea Market :

  • While this role is primarily focused on the Japanese market, experience in managing and work in the Korean market, including knowledge of the language, would be a significant advantage.
  • The Korea market is not a “must have”, but If we find a candidate with these capabilities, there may be an opportunity to expand their responsibilities to also oversee Korea.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Must be an entrepreneurial person, and a highly motivated leader with keen sense of leadership and excellent interpersonal skills. He / she also must have an ability to gain respect from employees at all levels of Ham-let Group worldwide.
  • Need to be a dynamic person with strong willingness to take a lead to find solution on critical issues internally and externally, and try out new ideas. The individual must be aggressive, creative, flexible, and have a strong personality, as well as being a hands-on doer with bottom line result oriented.
  • Innovative, self-motivated, and self-driven type of business leader who should beside the marketing and sales responsibilities also be familiar and involved in, general management issues such as HR, and in the finance with willingly attitude.
  • Experience of working abroad at the operating level of general management would be an advantage.
  • Must be Fluent ability to communicate in the English language .
  • Educational / Certification Requirement :

  • Bachelor / Advance Degree from a leading university
  • MBA would be a plus.
  • Experience Requirement :

    Work Experience :

  • Must have at least 15 years of successful experience
  • in sales and sales management of the industrial products, of which at least 5 to 7 years should be with senior management responsibility to successfully manage both key accounts and nationwide distribution networking.
  • Working experience in one of our major competitors such as Swagelok would be an advantage
  • Should have sound knowledge and understanding of the Japanese business culture as well as experience and understanding of working with international global corporate, understanding the global business culture and practices .(preferably with some working experience both in Japan and overseas). While direct experience in valves and fittings related is ideal, successful technical marketing and sales management experience with the technology oriented products in the Japanese / international industrial markets is considered critical. The person must have worked at major / well established organization with some successful experience of rapidly growing his / her business and operations.

  • Overnight Travel :

  • Work may require domestic & international travel depending up to 25% of time
