As an integrated events group, GL events operates in three main segments : event organisation, venue management and the production and provision of services for trade shows, conferences and events.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Recruitment Lead to manage end-to-end recruitment for a large-scale project in Japan. This is a critical role that will shape our talent acquisition strategy in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all recruitment activities, partnering with internal stakeholders and external agencies, and potentially building and leading a small recruitment team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute full-cycle recruitment for a wide range of roles across functions.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies tailored to the Japanese talent market.
  • Coordinate closely with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and align recruitment efforts.
  • Manage relationships with external staffing and recruitment agencies.
  • Oversee candidate experience, interview scheduling, and communication across the pipeline.
  • Build, scale, and lead a team of internal recruiters as needed based on hiring volumes and strategic direction.
  • Advise leadership on talent availability, market trends, and best practices in Japan.
  • Fluency in Japanese and excellent communication skills in English (business level).
  • Proven experience in managing recruitment processes in Japan.
  • Very good knowledge of the Japanese labor market and local practices in terms of recruitment and labor law.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and evolve in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.
  • Experience in environments combining in-house recruitment and collaboration with external agencies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous experience in building or leading a recruitment team would be an asset.
  • Location : Nagoya, Japan (Relocation required)
  • Language Requirements : Fluent English required; Japanese is a plus
