Department Overview

The Product Development Division General Management Department contributes to the expansion of the Rakuten Ecosystem by enhancing the synergy effects of "Rakuten FinTech."

The Rakuten Group offers many financial services, such as banking, credit cards, securities, insurance, payment services like Rakuten Pay, and e-money like Edy. The FinTech services are rapidly expanding, and so is the development structure. Appropriate management accounting is essential to support strategic business development.

We efficiently and effectively visualize the "people and things" that form IT assets and provide data that can be used as decision-making material for management and business owners.

Position : Why We Hire

FinTech services in Rakuten is expanding rapidly, and the development system is expanding year by year.

Proper accounting for management is essential to support strategic business development. It grows increasingly important to understand profit and cost structure in each service model and to analyze ROI on a project-by-project basis.

Therefore, we are looking for members who can support services and organizations’ expansion in the point of financial view.

Position Details

You will be responsible for collecting essential information to analyze ROI and report appropriate information to business owners.

Therefore, you will be in charge of monitoring and planning related to appropriate finance while untangling complex cost structures when designing scheme and promotion of its operation.

Concrete job description

Budget and actual management and IT asset management (cost aggregation and reporting)
Cost analysis of each project according to monthly / quarterly / annual
Finance-related coordination with each manager
Various coordination tasks between departments and groups etc.
Tools we use : MicroStrategy, Apptio and other internal systems.

Mandatory Qualifications :

Must have experience in one of the following

At least 2 years of experience in financial accounting (experience in monthly closing)

At least 2 years of experience as FP&A (experience in budgeting and budget / actual management)

Experience in data analysis using Excel (VLOOKUP / SUMIF functions, pivot tables are essential)

Desired Qualifications :

Ability to think and act independently, rather than waiting for instructions.

Interest in the work, willingness to learn independently, and a proactive attitude.

Values teamwork.

Skill in gathering and coordinating the intentions of many stakeholders.

Ability to prioritize multiple important issues appropriately and complete tasks by the deadline even during peak work periods.

Practical experience in aggregating performance etc.using multiple systems.

Knowledge of VBA and databases (Access or SQL).

Experience working as an FP&A or management accounting in the IT industry.

Experience in cost management as a Project Manager, Product Manager, or organizational leader.

Experience in creating reports for senior executives.
