As an Office Based Medical Affairs Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Medical Affairs (MA) physicians and scientists develop deep medical expertise on GSK medicines, and all related relevant topics including but not limited to the diseases for which they treat or prevent, the competitive landscape, the payer / provider environment, and emerging data.
Job Purpose :
The Director of Medical Affairs,Haematologyasset lead is a leadership role within the Medical division that reports directly to the Head of Oncology Medical Affairs Japan and being part of the Oncology Medical Affairs Leadership Team, this position requires expertise in medical strategy and oversight of haematology asset and team.
You will beaccountable for overseeing Haematology launch product and potential future Haematology products / indication expansions.
The incumbent will be required to work closely with the Global / regionaloncology haematology teams, Japan MSL leaders, broader medical affairs leadership teams, cross functional matrix partnersincluding Japan Development to ensure that the Haematology medical team have the highest quality capabilities and expertise.
The effective development and implementation of the medical strategies contributes to the overall enterprise plan to ensure the optimal launch of new products and appropriate optimal patient use of currently available GSK Medicines through :
Excellence in Medical Engagement with key oncology external experts
Ensuring insights are gathered and analysedin a timely manner, with robust communication and
action plans with relevant stakeholders
Robust integrated evidence planning in close collaboration with development and Health
outcomes partners
Collaboration and cross-functional working with Commercial Leadership Team Partners

Key Responsibilities :
Provide oversight and strategic guidance to the Medicalleadersaccountable for the development, implementation and monitoring of the hematology in oncology Medical strategic plans which includes development of focused External Engagement Plans and analysis of Medical voice of the customer
Support and mentor the Medicalleadersin driving excellence in external expert engagement skills, to include Congresses and stand-alone meetings, Medical Education, Advisory Boards, Scientific communications and publications, Digital solutions
Offer high-level expertise and insightson theJapan external hematology / oncology environment, GSK products, and competitor products
Facilitate effective collaboration with Clinical Development teams and the Global teams to ensure insights are communicated in a timely way and that clinical trial plans, evidence planning, data gathering, and generation are consistent and aligned to optimize brand strategies.
Provide strategic support in working closely with Japan development and Regulatory to contribute to timely filing of regulatory submissions, to develop robust EE engagement plan and to develop optimal launch strategies for oncology assets
Oversee and provide strategic directionin the management of GSK supported, collaborative and investigator sponsored studies
Guide the Medicalleaders in collaborating and work cross-functionally with Commercial Leadership Team Partners (marketing, sales, reimbursement) to identify customer and patient needs, and develop innovative strategies and solutions that contribute to the optimal launch of new products and appropriate optimal patient use of already launched GSK medicines. Input into commercial strategy and marketing plans, providing technical accuracy, fair and balanced information and conformance with prevailing legislation, regulations and internal SOP’s.

Oversee and provide strategic direction to the senior leaderparticipating within the Medical Division
Guide and support the senior leader in providing leadership for the establishment and effective functioning of Medical Therapeutic Matrix teams, ensuring optimal transference of knowledge and skills across the medical division
Embed strategic mindset as well as a value creation culture and process at medical affairs organization
Contribute a robust knowledge of disease area, governance and GSK policies - identifying and assisting in management of issues regarding compliance with governance and risk management practices

Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with specific experience leading a team with progressively more senior positions and responsibility.
Leadership & People Management : Experience leading manager(s), with a focus on team development, evaluation, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing environment.
Change Management : Proven ability to plan, execute, and lead organizational change while engaging stakeholders and ensuring business continuity.
Experience in Medical Affairs
Experience and understanding of the drug development, regulatory and commercialization process, including clinical trial development, is critical to the role.
Experience with medical governance processes
Experience in change management and restructuring, building capabilities

Masters, Pharm D. or PhD
Fluent in both English and Japanese
