About Organization

Cloud Platform Division provides the virtual infrastructure for Rakuten Mobile.

Within the Cloud Technology Department, the focus is on designing, building, and operating virtualization infrastructure software for containers and virtual machines.

Engineers possessing advanced cloud technologies, which are integral to Rakuten Mobile's world-first "fully virtualized cloud-native mobile network," work together to continuously evolve and innovate the mobile network.

The department consists of approximately 50 members. There are three Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) sections responsible for the design, construction, and operation of each technical domain : virtualization platforms, container platforms, and storage platforms. Additionally, there is one section dedicated to part of the development of the container platform and another responsible for developing, testing environments, and automating processes. In total, the department is comprised of five sections.

Job Duties

Rakuten Mobile is currently advancing multiple national projects, with the Cloud Engineering Department responsible for areas related to cloud technology. To strengthen the management system for the completion of projects and achievement of goals, we are seeking personnel capable of project management, including schedule management, task management, and risk management. The main stakeholders include Rakuten Symphony, which is responsible for the development of the container platform that is the subject of the research and development, the team operating the verification environment domestically, the team conducting the verification, the Technology, Strategy & Compliance Divisionoverseeing research and development for Rakuten Mobile, the Intellectual Property Department, and the Standardization Department.

Mandatory Qualifications

Over 5 years of project management experience in the telecom carrier industry

Ability to understand market and technological trends in the telecom carrier industry and define requirements from a business perspective

Ability to understand the technical value in research and development and determine the feasibility of research and development from a business perspective

Ability to link technical objectives and outcomes with business objectives and outcomes, and to document and explain them

Desired Qualifications

Experience participating in Japanese national projects

Technical work experience related to telecom cloud (such as design, construction, and operation)

Languages :

English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent)
