Department Overview

The Corporate IT Department is seeking a SAM (Software Asset Management) Manager to manage and operate the various software used by Rakuten employees from a software compliance perspective.

Position : Why We Hire

Rakuten Group is launching a new initiative focused on software compliance for both domestic and overseas locations.

As a SAM Manager, you will be responsible for strengthening software compliance for various roles within the Rakuten Group.

This position involves the entire lifecycle of software, from purchase to end-of-support. The primary focus will be on managing software used in Japan, but you will also promote the implementation of software compliance in overseas locations through communication with those locations.

We are looking for someone who can understand license agreements and technical management methods through interactions with software vendors, and then implement optimal software management and operations within the Rakuten Group.

Position Details

  • Planning, procurement support, deployment, maintenance, usage tracking, compliance, and disposal of software assets.
  • Promoting software compliance through communication with employees.
  • Building internal operations in accordance with software license terms and technical management methods.
  • Identifying and implementing mitigation measures for risks related to software licensing and usage.

Mandatory Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of software licensing (vendors, contract types, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM)
  • Basic IT knowledge (OS, network, servers, etc.)
  • Basic PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Language : English / Japanese (both at a business level or more)
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • ITIL certification
  • Experience working in an information systems department
  • Desired Qualities :

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act proactively.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and knowledge.

    English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 3 - Advanced)
