Description

  • Manage key accounts and develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders including distributors, government organizations, engineering, purchasing and senior management
  • Sell into customers through direct sales as well as indirect sales via Channel Partners
  • Increase customer base and close orders with new target customers
  • Identify and create new sales opportunities with both new and existing customers
  • Provide monthly forecasts and reports of business potential in assigned area
  • Work closely with BU and regional teams to proactively drive sales opportunities forward
  • In addition, sales managers may be requested to assist the Japan Country Manager and business unit marketing team with researching new market opportunities and launching new products

Pre-requisites and Skills :

  • Experience in sales, as an account manager in telecommunications for wireless / wireline and network communications is preferred.
  • Understand technologies of radio wave propagation would be an advantage.
  • Have an existing network of key customer relationships in wireless / wireline industry
  • Excellent communications and customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to understand customer applications / requirements and relate those to relevant features and benefits of VIAVI products to articulate a winning value proposition for the customer
  • Strong communications skills and customer-oriented
  • Willingness to travel frequently (within Japan) to provide solutions support to clients
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum Degree holder in Telecommunications / Computer / Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • At least 3-5 years of sales experience in technology related industry
