An international Renewable Energy Developer & IPP dedicated to accelerating the energy transition in Japan. They have a JV with a major Japanese trading house with 1GW of BESS projects under construction / development and more planned. Our client’s parent company is a HK based energy transition investor, founded 10 years ago and has projects in Solar, BESS and Biomass in several Asian countries. The team has a strong track record in the industry developing multiple GWs across the region.

Your new role - あなたの新しい役割

Support the team to acquire, develop and manage the renewable energy projects including grid scale battery storage (BESS) projects. You will be involved in project acquisition and development, assessing projects, negotiating with stakeholders and submitting permits. Responsible for :

• Collaboration with local developers, real estate brokers, and landowners to gather information on potential projects.
• Managing and reporting on the pipeline in order to track project origination opportunities.
• Conducting feasibility assessments of projects from various perspectives, including landscape, grid capacity, permits, and others.
• Conducting site visits to identify and evaluate potential risks.
• Negotiating land prices and other terms with landowners and project owners.
• Monitoring relevant regulations and carrying out permitting-related work

Who you are - あなたは誰ですか

Experience with early phase Development for Renewable Energy projects including grid scale Solar, Wind and / or Battery storage.  You have familiarity with site sourcing & assessment, land acquisition, negotiating with landowners and permitting processes. Similar experience from other industries such as, traditional Energy, Oil & Gas or Electrical Infrastructure also considered.

You will have strong communication skills and the ability to manage the various stakeholder relationships involved.

Professional working proficiency in Japanese and ideally English.
