O bjectives of the Position
- The primary function of this role is to implement Engineering Plastics, Performance Materials Japan sales & marketing strategy in customer management and new business development by initiating contacts with existing and potential customers in line with the company Code of Conduct principles.
- Represents Engineering Plastics, performance materials Asia Pacific as regional Key Account Manager in internal Key Account community, coordinate Asia activities in different countries.
- Conducts and develops the EP business according to the regional strategy and objectives in line with regional and local Code of Conduct principles. Accountable on the business performance in assigned key customers and new customers development. Provide input for account plan, pricing strategy and market intelligence. Establish and foster strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
M ain Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
Sales Development .
Fully responsible and accountable for profitable business growth for assigned customersDevelops sales plans; secure and expedite orders.Supervises and consolidate the accurate sales forecast.Strategic Tasks and Implementation
Represents Asia key account manager in global key account community meeting and steer & collaborate with LKAs for each country’s business development.Identifies key accounts and regularly update key account profiles.Implements the sales and marketing directions per agreed directions.Supports GKAM and regional commercial to set up customer long term pricing strategy and lead regional price negotiation.Product / Industry / Business Development
Scouts for new business opportunities in the respective sales areas / key accounts and develop a business plan.Suggests product developments and requirements to Sales Manager or LBM and support its implementation.Customer Management
Conducts field visits, seminars, presentation and attend to customers’ inquiries.Provides prompt response related to quality, technical applications, inquiries, and other related issues; conduct customers’ assessments and analyses.Aligns with Regional and key functions to address customers’ issues properly.Supports regular customer interactions in different hierarchies, especially for GKAs.Credit Management
Monitors the growth of the customers’ business, review and coordinate with credit control to make appropriate credit recommendations.Follow-up on payment collections and ensure on-time payment from the customers.Marketing
Implements pricing policy and support product launch processes.Monitors and reviews marketing / promotion campaign’s execution.Supports public relation and marketing communication campaign for related business.Market Intelligence
Conducts studies / analysis on market trend, competitors, products’ applications and technology, service needs.Job Requirements (minimum requirement to carry out the work)
Edu c a t i o n
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Polymer, Chemistry or equivalent, e.g. Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.W o r k in g Experience
Over 5 years technical sales working experience preferably in the Engineering Plastics industry especially in the areas of sales and / or market / application development or in the automotive industryT e c hn i c a l & Professional Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of Engineering Plastics, technical know-how and applications. Tooling, Plastics Compounding and Application Development experiences would be highly desirable.
