About your team

Wholesale Sales is a core department in the Sales division. The division is responsible for establishing and growing profitable business with third party distributors such as banks, securities companies, and domestic asset management companies. Wholesale Sales department is responsible for the following.

Plan and promote sales activities for the Wholesale clients - banks, brokers and domestic asset management companies. Acquire and support the clients for domestic sales of both Japanese and foreign mutual funds established and managed by Fidelity International Japan (FIJ) and Fidelity’s overseas group companies. Plan and promote sub-advisory business for asset management companies.

About your role

This is a critical role within the Wholesale Sales Department, managing our core accounts, building relationships with, sales promotion of our funds with both new and existing clients. Sales promotion to clients includes a broad variety of activities ranging from identifying opportunities to delivery of in-depth fund and investment presentations to various divisions of our clients. The role also includes meeting day-to-day servicing and fund promotion activities of these clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales activities and build deep relationships with branches of mutual fund distributors, especially major securities firms.
  • Promote and cover exist and new products to our client’s Sales organization and Branches.
  • Build and keep personal and trusting relationships with our focus clients such as large Broker-dealers, Trust Banks, Mega Banks.
  • Plan and execute mass marketing plan to non-focus clients such as Regional Banks.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of products and financial market.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of marketplace and competitive landscape.
  • Closely work with Marketing, Product Specialists, Client Services, and other internal stakeholders including overseas offices to meet client’s need and help generate business.
  • Ensures that the Wholesale investment products and services make Fidelity a strong competitive market position and leverage Fidelity’s worldwide resources and experience to build a first-class Wholesale business in Japan.
  • Co-work with other team members for both relationship management and fund promotion.

About you

Experience

  • 10+ years of Sales experience in Asset Management industry or related industry and have strong relationships with distributors.
  • 5+ years of experience in a product-related role in the financial service industry is a plus
  • Technical skills and knowledge

  • Expertise in investment strategies and financial instruments including equities, fixed income, and FX
  • Extensive knowledge of investment management business in Japan
  • Competencies

  • Self-starter who is result-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to take a logical approach to problem solving, determine appropriate priorities, and therefore leading to the best solution.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible attitude with experience working on a wide range of fields - role
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a flexible and proactive approach to resolving conflicts and overcoming problems
  • Good working verbal and written communication skills in English preferred
  • Qualifications

  • CFA, CMA, or CAIA preferred
