POSITION OBJECTIVE
The role of Business Development Manager – Events Sales is to proactively sell, assist and support the growth of existing and new accounts in IDC Japan through IDC’s various Events capabilities (single sponsor and multi-sponsor).
Responsibilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES :
Reporting to Japan Sales Head for Events Sales or a person designated by the aforementioned, this position will work closely with Japan and the Global Sales teams to develop business opportunities for IDC’s Events offerings, for the growth and development of opportunities in the designated Sales territory and customer segments. Your responsibilities as Business Development Manager (Events Sales) will include, but are not limited to, the following :
Business Development and Client Management :
- Proactively present and sell IDC Events capabilities to existing customers and prospects.
- Work with the Regional Sales Team in identifying and nurturing opportunities through the various Sales stages
- Support IDC account managers to increase client penetration through expansion of custom solution practice areas and capabilities
- Educate and enable IDC sales to develop sales pipeline and forecast reports
- Develop network of clients and meet with clients to develop business opportunities
- Work with the event and analyst teams to develop proposals, new products, and services
Analysis and Research :
Participate in Events in JapanDevelop and support proposals and presentations with clientsManager customers through Events Pre-Sales and post-Sales stagesKeeping current with industry trends and new researchClient Management :
Engage in IDC client’s management, business development ownership & oversightEngage with relevant stakeholders to develop pricing and proposal structureBe the voice of customer and support the team to bullet proof deliverablesCoordination of internal resources on deliverable fulfillmentQualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :
6-8 years of quota-carrying Event sponsorship sales experience, along with strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills, and proven business development skillsWide network of contacts in the ICT sectorStrong problem-solving skillsExperience in market research or ICT industry is advantageousJapanese : NativeEnglish proficiency : Basic conversation, e-mail communication (read and write)PC skill : Excel (pivot table creation / utilization skill), Word, PowerPointUniversity degree or aboveCHARACTERISTICS & TRAITS :
