Real World Data & Analytics Lead

Job Purpose

China and Japan play a critical role in the growth and success of the GSK organization. The creation of Asia Development organization provides an opportunity for the integrated and disease-aligned biostatistics team to achieve synergies through collective expertise / capabilities for Asia, in advocating and implementing innovative statistical approach. Real world data Analytics (RWDA) Lead is accountable for developing the RWD strategy for Japan and contributing for the wider APAC region. Lead the RWDA team to maximise the use of RWD for the design and execution of Non-interventional studies (NIS) including Post-marketing studies (PMS). Accountabilities include optimising the progress, risks, budget and resource management for delivery of the studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, direction, management including resource strategy, and single point of accountability for all aspects of Japan’s RWD, NIS and PMS delivery to ensure optimum delivery of the GSK portfolio.
• Lead a team to leverage expertise in RWD and methodology to support use of fit-for-purpose RWD solutions and / or bring that expertise to a matrix team to proactively influence evidence generation through analytics, standards, innovation, and best practices.
• Maintain knowledge of innovative methods and emerging technologies to analyse complex health datasets and understanding of the changing regulatory landscape.
• Ensure appropriate processes are utilised in project delivery in accordance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) including appropriate use of quality control (QC)
• Define and deliver internal Japan RWA initiatives (e.g., technical or process improvement initiatives)
• Represent Japan RWDA / GSK within the Japan development and medical organisations and to the external RWD / RWE community, including contributing to GSK responses to external regulatory or other industry-wide initiatives about RWD / RWE
• Maintain a comprehensive overview of the external environment for RWD / E policy and data availability in Japan
• Develop the RWD strategy for Japan in collaboration with the RWD Strategy and Partnerships team, allocate resource to support this remit, and build internal relationships to maximise the value of data partnerships in Japan
• Build and maintain effective strategic working relationships with internal and external partners to meet business needs, including collaboration with government, health care organisations, and / or academia
• Lead a RWDA organization of professional and highly experienced staff; including all aspects of training and development, performance management, career development, and deployment to projects and work activities consistent with business requirements.
