Successful Japanese / International Renewable Energy Developer, EPC & IPP seeks 2 Development Managers for site selection / acquisition and permitting.

This successful Japanese / International Renewable Energy Developer, EPC & IPP is involved in Utility Scale Solar, BESS and Onshore and Offshore Wind both in Japan and internationally. They are a Developer, EPC and an Independent Power Producer. They are a young company with a modern culture and are growing fast. They are hiring 2 Development Managers join their business development team.

Role No. 1 – Development Manager (sourcing)

This position will play a key role in early phase site sourcing, selection and land acquisition and will directly contribute to the success of our client’s grid battery business. Responsible for :

• Collecting land information suitable for installing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) (using various methods)
• Conducting initial due diligence (DD) of land information
• Developing and building relationships with partner companies across the country

Role No. 1 – Development Project Manager (Permitting)

This position will involve overseeing the entire development project for grid storage batteries and will play a vital role in leading the process to success from the planning stage through mass production and market launch. This position is responsible for coordinating multiple subcontractors as well as other parties as per below :

• Management of developers and other partners
• Controlling development costs
• Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, contract management
• Obtaining permits and licenses and building local consensus
• Forming new partnerships to expand renewable energy

Required experience (similar for both roles)

Both roles require knowledge and practical experience in the power plant development process for either Site selection or for obtaining permits, land negotiations, local coordination, etc.). You will also need :

• Practical experience in sourcing (collecting land information)
• Experience in battery business development is a plus
• Renewable energy business development experience (approximately 2 years or more)
• Experience as a project manager in real estate development or EPC
• High sales skills and the ability to manage everything from new business to closing
