Manages the strong relationship with local stakeholders and provides them the procurement expertise, using thorough understanding of Commodity Strategies, local market knowledge and supplier innovation, and thereby supports business in order to bring them the most efficient and cost effective solution. Ensuring all process compliances with local market statutory requirements, and procurement KPIs are met.

Join Philips and contribute to our offerings of Medical Equipment, Services, and Software to customers in Japan. In this role, you will support the sales and services organization, connecting with Business Units through Business Partners to ensure compliance, quality, cost, and delivery for all third-party IT hardware, software, and licensing, in addition to Philips systems and devices in deal packages. This may include stand-alone hospital offers, regional multi-modality deals, and large government projects at the country level.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage a spend of €30M through 40 suppliers.

Act as a single contributor locally, with a strong focus on diversity.

Represent and position Procurement, interacting with key internal stakeholders, including Business Market Leaders, Service Leaders, Supplier Quality, and the Legal team.

Further define the Procurement value proposition, balancing a project-based approach with a category and project angle, promoting our standard catalog items.

Ensure 100% compliance with local regulations, our Quality Management System, and internal policies.

Propose and / or implement key process changes within your team and facilitate with other stakeholders as part of continuous improvement.

Implement the country-specific procurement strategy in collaboration with the Market Procurement Leader.

Boost and maintain the short and mid-term productivity funnel, focusing on P&L impact, leveraging year-over-year productivity (e.g., supplier consolidation, redesign to cost approach, strong negotiation practices).

Maximize assurance of supply to safeguard our revenue and customer satisfaction.

Manage the supply base (segmentation, consolidation, risk management, performance monitoring).

You are part of The Integrated Supply Chain and Procurement organization, reporting to the Market Procurement Leader – International Markets.

You're the right fit if :

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Direct Procurement, Supply Chain, or Project Management within a global matrix environment.

General skills in IT system integrators, software equipment (devices / systems), associated services (installation, repair), and overall regulatory knowledge.

Proficiency in Japanese and English (minimum TOEIC score of 750).

Strong business acumen and inclusiveness, working closely with Business Units, Market, and Q&R management representatives.

A “customer first” mindset with no compromise on compliance.

Influencing skills to constructively challenge legacy and status quo.
