Job Summary

Cogent Labs is looking for a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to help accelerate how we create and deploy machine-learning-based solutions to real-world business problems.  This manager will be responsible for empowering the work of a diverse team of ML engineers and researchers by setting ambitious goals aligned towards a product roadmap and managing successful delivery.

Successful candidates will join a highly-skilled, growing team of ML engineers and scientists, using modern software engineering techniques, coding practices, and technologies. The team combines data engineering, machine learning engineering, and devops engineering using modern technologies such as PyTorch, Docker, Knative, Kafka, Kubernetes, Nvidia Triton, Github Actions, and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.

This position will report directly to the CTO and join a Research and Development leadership team that is driven to innovate and solve.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading, empowering and managing a diverse team towards individual and collective goals.
  • Ensuring organizational health by fostering growth of team members.
  • Working with other cross functional teams and leaders to drive the product roadmap.
  • Contributing to designing and implementing full model development cycles : data collection, labeling, model development, experimentation, training, testing, and deployment in production
  • Making sure that good coding and engineering practices are implemented in order to maintain a sane codebase

Qualifications and skills

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing engineers, scientists or researchers.
  • Professional experience in designing, implementing, training and deploying machine learning models for business application.
  • Excellent collaboration skills allowing for effective communication with other departments and leaders within the company.
  • Nice to have qualifications

  • Practical knowledge of MLOps principles and technologies, and DevOps in general (data and model storage and versioning, model training at scale, model serving at scale).

  • Salary
  • Annual salary (Monthy Salary + Bonus) and other statutory working conditions details (Monthly Salary [Base salary + Managerial Allowance + Late Night Allowanc]) will be presented separately prior to the interview.

    Base salary will be determined based on experience and ability

    Performance-based bonuses are provided twice a year

    Commuting allowance are paid separately

  • Working hours - Basic working hours 9 : 00 a.m. to 6 : 00 p.m. Break - 12 : 00 p.m. to 1 : 00 p.m. (60 minutes)
  • Holidays - Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and year-end and New Year holidays
  • Paid leave - Up to 20 days per year (separate bereavement leave available)
