Why we are looking for Platform Engineer

In order to become a top innovator in the pharmaceutical industry, Chugai Pharmaceutical is implementing reforms with DX as a key driver, and as part of these reforms, we are establishing an agile in-house development organization. As part of this reform, Chugai is building an agile in-house development organization. We are seeking highly specialized and skilled individuals to participate in various DX projects in each of Chugai's divisions and to accelerate application development.

About Our DX

Improving the efficiency of internal operations through the chat application using generative AI.

Improving the efficiency and sophistication of the clinical development process for new drugs by using real-world data

Leverage AI systems to support drug discovery, etc.

About Digital Strategy Department

As the company as a whole is actively promoting DX, various needs arise in different departments and institutions, such as application development, AI implementation, and data analysis promotion.

The role of the Digital Strategy Promotion Department is to plan, design, and develop cross-departmental projects to meet these needs. This department has a particularly high percentage of members who joined the company as career professionals with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the following tasks on cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud.

• All of these tasks will be project-based, working with members of various departments.

Develop software applications using enabling technologies such as mobile devices, smartphones, and IoT

Design, build, operate, and monitor the development / execution environment required for agile application development

Perform advanced analysis and measures related to middleware, APIs, microservices, and applications.

The successful candidate will be involved in building data usage platforms

As you gain experience as a Platform Engineer, you will be tasked with different responsibilities depending on your insight and technical knowledge of application development. You will play a central role in the development and operation of applications on cloud platforms and in the construction of data utilizationn platforms.

AWS、Google Cloud、Azureなど）を用いたサービスの設計、構築経験

API設計

AWS プロフェッショナル認定資格（もしくはそれ相当のスキルがあること）or Google Cloudプロフェッショナル認定資格（もしくはそれ相当のスキルがあること）

TOEIC 730以上

AIサービスの設計、開発経験

AWS、Google Cloud、Azureなど）に関する深い理解

API設計等のアプリケーション設計のスキル

AIサービスの設計と開発に関する知識

Docker、Kubernetesなどのコンテナ化技術の知識

CI / CDパイプライン（Github Actions, CircleCIなど）の設定と管理のスキル

Terraform, Python、Bashなど）の知識

Must have (Experience)

Experience in designing and building services using cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.)

Experience in application design, especially system architecture, microservices, and API design

Must have (Qualifications)

AWS Professional Certification (or equivalent)

or Google Cloud Professional Certification (or equivalent)

TOEIC 730+

Nice-to-have (Experience)

Experience in service development in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry

Experience in designing, building and managing data infrastructures and experience in promoting their use

Experience in AI service design and development

Nice-to-have (Skills / Knowledge / Abilities)

Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.)

Application design skills, including system architecture, microservices, API design, etc.

Knowledge of AI service design and development

Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Skills in building and managing CI / CD pipelines (Github Actions, CircleCI, etc.)

Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and system administration (Terraform, Python, Bash, etc.)

English communication skills
