Job Duties

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist who will be responsible for analyzing large volumes of raw data to identify patterns and insights that will contribute to the improvement of our company. The successful candidate will be proficient in building data products and possess a strong understanding of analysis, mathematics, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential for interpreting data, and a passion for applying machine learning techniques is highly desired.

The main objective of this position is to assist Rakuten Mobile, Inc. in analyzing trends in order to make informed decisions and automate network operations and management.

Collecting, preprocessing, and analyzing data

Developing models to address various challenges

Presenting information using data visualization techniques

Identifying valuable data sources and automating collection processes

Preprocessing structured and unstructured data

Analyzing large amounts of information to identify trends and patterns

Building predictive models and machine learning algorithms

Combining models through ensemble modeling

Presenting information using data visualization techniques

Proposing solutions and strategies for business challenges

Collaborating with engineering and product development teams

Minimum Qualifications

5-7 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Analyst

Basic Understanding of machine-learning and AI

Knowledge of Python, PySpark, SQL, Flask; familiarity with data frameworks such as

Hadoop, databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, YugaByte), understanding of cloud-native deployments and infrastructure

Strong math / analytical skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)

Problem-solving aptitude

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Experience in data mining

Experience in product development

Preferred Qualifications

MSc / BSc / BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or a quantitative field

Japanese language skill

English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 2 - Intermediate)
