Join MoFo as a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & MARKETING MANAGER on our Marketing team!

This role is based in our Tokyo office.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Development (BD) & Marketing Manager works closely with the partners and BD team to develop and sustain a loyal client base.

Proactively track and monitor key client relationships.

Partner with attorneys to plan and execute business development-related client meetings and business travel, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Research and identify opportunities for promoting and cross selling.

Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility.

Execute on targeted marketing initiatives including communications & social media strategies, client events and organizational affiliations.

Develop customized pitches / RFPs, client presentations, and marketing materials.

Attain synergies for BD & marketing efforts through effective collaboration and ensures client service and satisfaction are front of mind in all areas of the position.

Build a strong working relationship with the Tokyo BD & Marketing team, managing your direct reports to get the very best results. Coach and mentor to ensure continued growth and progress in their roles.

ABOUT YOU

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong writing & communication skills.

Seven or more years of professional services BD and / or marketing experience; law firm experience highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of core marketing principles including driving innovative tools and programs, competitive intelligence, market research, and pitch responses.

High degree of motivation, with a driving sense of responsibility, accountability, and responsiveness.

Excellent writing skills in both Japanese and English.Ability to focus written materials to ensure a strong impact on the targeted audience.

Strong business acumen : the ability to recognize BD & marketing opportunities and to pursue them strategically.

Excellent attention to detail in all areas, including writing, copy editing, researching, and managing data.

Strong presentation and communication skills.

Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.

Ability to quickly assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions, including ability to draw clear conclusions from a diverse collection of data.

Talent for creating client satisfaction; demonstrated ability to focus on the client value in all work.
