APM Japan Sales Leader & AP FKM Sales Leader

Role Overview :

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven sales leader to oversee and drive our APM (Advanced Performance Materials) business in Japan while simultaneously leading the sales efforts for the FKM (Fluoroelastomers) segment across the Asia-Pacific (AP) region. This dual-role position requires a strategic thinker with proven expertise in sales management, market development, and customer relationship management within the chemicals, materials, or related industries.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong industry background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex and diverse markets. You will be responsible for delivering sales growth, driving market penetration, and achieving customer satisfaction across both portfolios while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with global strategies.

Key Responsibilities :

Japan APM Sales Leadership :

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to grow the APM business in Japan.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key customers, distributors, and stakeholders within the Japanese market.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and industry developments to drive innovative solutions.
  • Lead negotiations, pricing strategies, and contract management to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to tailor offerings that meet local market demands.

AP FKM Sales Leadership :

  • Drive sales strategy and execution for the FKM portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional customers and distributors, ensuring alignment with global FKM sales objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities in new and existing markets, including emerging industries and applications for FKM.
  • Provide market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and customer dynamics to refine strategy and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Partner with the supply chain and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of products and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration :

  • Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Foster collaboration across functions, including R&D, marketing, supply chain, and global leadership, to ensure alignment and success.
  • Act as a bridge between the global organization and local / regional markets, ensuring clear communication and execution of strategic priorities.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles within the materials, chemicals, or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing sales teams and delivering results in both local (Japan) and regional (Asia-Pacific) markets.
  • Strong technical understanding of APM and FKM products, applications, and customer needs.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English and Japanese. Additional language skills relevant to the APAC region are an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-cultural and matrixed organizational structure.
