創薬研究ラボオートメーションスペシャリスト / Laboratory Automation Specialist for Drug Discovery Research

中外製薬では、独自のモダリティ技術と疾患作用機序に基づいた創薬コンセプトを組み合わせることで、革新的な医薬品を連続的に創出し、アンメットメディカルニーズに対するソリューションを提供すべくチャレンジを続けています。限りあるリソースの中で患者さんに新薬を迅速に届けるためには、社内で走る数多くの創薬プロジェクトを効率よく推進していく必要があります。2023年に稼働を開始した研究所・中外ライフサイエンスパーク横浜（中外LSP横浜）では、日々膨大な数のサンプルやデータを扱いながら、多様な実験やデータ解析を行っていますが、創薬プロセスの効率化による中外LSP横浜全体の研究アウトプットのさらなる増強を目指しています。創薬研究の加速に向けて、研究の流れや全体像を理解したうえで、各研究員と連携を取りながら研究業務効率化のニーズを把握し、機器間連携・データフローの最適化・実験自動実施システム等を実現するラボオートメーションの強化・推進が強く求められています。
仕事内容：
・各研究員との連携を通じた、ウェット実験業務のボトルネックや改善点の抽出、並びに実験の自動化に向けた要件定義
・サンプルやデータの流れを考慮した上での、複数機器の連携を含む研究システムのグランドデザイン
・自動化技術の調査、導入や開発、並びに新業務プロセスの設計・要件定義
・タンパク質や抗体調製、化合物を用いた薬効薬理試験、化合物の合成など、多様な分子生物学・生化学・化学関連実験の自動化システム構築のため、各種機器やシステムへの理解はもちろん、各種実験のプロトコールに対する理解、さらには柔軟な発想や創意工夫が求められるポジションです。

About the Position:
At Chugai Pharmaceutical, we continuously strive to create innovative medicines and provide solutions for unmet medical needs by combining our unique modality technologies with drug discovery concepts based on disease mechanisms. To deliver new drugs to patients quickly with limited resources, it is essential to efficiently advance the numerous drug discovery projects running within the company. At the Chugai Life Science Park Yokohama (Chugai LSP Yokohama), which began operations in 2023, we handle a vast number of samples and data daily, conducting various experiments and data analyses. However, we aim to further enhance the overall research output of Chugai LSP Yokohama by improving the efficiency of the drug discovery process. To accelerate drug discovery research, it is crucial to understand the flow and overall picture of the research, identify the needs for research work efficiency while collaborating with each researcher, and strongly promote and strengthen lab automation to achieve optimal inter-device connectivity, data flow optimization, and automated experimental systems.
You will:
・Identification of bottlenecks and areas for improvement in wet lab operations through collaboration with individual researchers, as well as defining requirements for experimental automation.
・Grand design of research systems, including the integration of multiple devices, considering the flow of samples and data.
・Investigation, introduction, and development of automation technologies, as well as the design and requirement definition of new work processes.
・To build automation systems for a variety of molecular biology, biochemistry, and chemistry-related experiments, such as protein and antibody preparation, pharmacological efficacy testing using compounds, and compound synthesis, it is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of various equipment and systems, as well as the protocols for different experiments. Additionally, flexible thinking and creativity are required for this position.

・プロセス自動化システムの設計、構築、開発経験（ライフサイエンス分野が望ましいが、他業種も含む）
・ライフサイエンス分野での自動化機器を用いたスクリーニング実験業務
・データベース構築、API連携などの開発経験
上記のいずれか実務経験を有する者
求めるスキル・知識・能力：
・工学／医学／薬学／ライフサイエンス分野のいずれかで修士卒以上で、博士号を取得または相当の実務経験
・コンピュータプログラミング（R, SQL, Perl Python, etc.）
求める行動特性：
・課題解決のための自発的な行動
・自らの考えを持ち、それを言葉や行動で示せる
・スキルや知識のアップデートに前向きに取り組み
・創薬への関心
求める資格：
・一定以上の英語力（目安：TOEIC 730点以上）
Desired experience:
・Experience in the design, construction, and development of process automation systems (preferably in the life sciences field, but other industries are also acceptable)
・Screening experiment work using automated equipments in the field of life science
・Database construction and API linkage
Those who have any of the work experience described above
Desired skills/knowledge/abilities:
・Ph.D. or corresponding expertise with a master's degree in a field of Medicine, Pharmacology, Engineering or Biology.
・Computer programming （R, SQL, Perl Python, etc.）
Desired competencies:
・Being self-active for problem solving
・Individuals who have their own ideas and can express them through words and actions
・Being positive about updating skills and knowledge
・Being interested in drug discovery
Desired Qualifications:
