Position:

Why we hire

Our first target is to become Asia No.1 Online travel service. You will work with sales team, marketing team, customer support team, and development team to provide the best user experience for users and business partners with continuous improvement and innovation. You will be required to create the product vision and product strategy based on the real data coming from many data sources like user behavior tracking tool, voice of customer, NPS, competitor research, and market analysis results.

Position Details

Responsibilities:

• Lead the discussion of marketing, sales promotion, globalization, localization, contents management, customer relationship management process with stakeholders and provide appropriate products/services to acquire new customers.
• Increase the quality and customer satisfaction of all Rakuten Travel Products and services by working closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer support and development teams across all over the world Rakuten Groups.
• Own the design and implementation of services for travel experience related industry not limited to Hotel but also Rent-a-car, Bus, Activity and packaging tours etc.

As a Group Manager:

• Lead travel business product team to create products for travelers and business partners along with the vision and viable strategy / tactics.
• Evangelize your products to stakeholders in/out side of company with presentations.
• Make presentations in conferences in sales area like US/China/Korea/Thai/Singapore and other APAC countries.
• Recruit new members and train junior/middle level PDM.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Product management/Program management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across multiple disciplines and functions (Both business and tech).
• Enthusiastic, motivated and self-drive of world support to change world with products is required
• Experience in product ideation, requirements definition, and creating documentation during the requirements definition phase.
• Tolerance in ambiguity with the ability to motivate/drive stakeholders without formal authority to make progress.

• Experience in product management of e-commerce or similar services

• Experience in KPI formulation and reporting to executives

• Experience contributing to service launch or service growth as lead PDM/PO

Desired Qualifications:

• MBA or other advanced degree
• Foundational knowledge in engineering, or equivalent professional experience as a software developer.
• Experience as a PdM in the travel or hotel industry is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a Japanese-speaking environment.
