Job Description
【Role and responsibilities】 :
- Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in both Japanese & English languages to establish good coordination and communication with Customer, Onsite and Offshore teams
- Actively involve in the primary responsibilities that include but not limited to :
- Develop and execute UAT scenarios, scripts, and test data for customer management, actuarial, policy admin, claims, and insurance operations applications
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and IT teams to clarify acceptance criteria and ensure coverage of business processes
- Document, communicate, and escalate defects or system issues; participate in defect triages and retesting cycles
- Support UAT planning, walkthroughs, daily stand-ups, and user training in Japanese and English
- Contribute to UAT documentation, status updates, and knowledge sharing across distributed teams
- Ensure that UAT activities comply with Japanese insurance standards, operations, and audit requirements
- Assist with post-UAT validation, transition-to-production, and business go-live support
- Mentoring and guiding junior team members while assigning and tracking the testing tasks for closure without any schedule, quality and cost slippages
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA leads in a distributed, multicultural environment
Requirements

JLPT N2 or above certified. Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in Japanese with native speakers3+ years of experience participating in UAT / user-driven testing, ideally within insurance (Life & P&C) or regulated finance domainsGood understanding of insurance business processes and system workflowsStrong skills in test script execution, defect documentation, and effective communication with end users and IT teamsExperience with test management or tracking tools (Jira, Excel, etc.)Ability to effectively coordinate with Customer SMEs from Business & IT, Onsite and Offshore teamsActively involve in Application transition and stabilization phases by aligning to Japan (JST) working hours【Nice to have】 :
Knowledge of Guidewire, Salesforce, or insurance COTS testingFamiliarity with Japanese insurance regulatory or operational requirementsExperience contributing to Agile or hybrid delivery projectsHands-on experience with automation and integration testing tools (Selenium, Playwright, SoapUI, Postman, etc.)Familiarity with test data management and synthetic data generation (GenRocket)Basic SQL / database testing (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with CI / CD environmentsKnowledge of GDPR rulesRequirements
