Job Summary

Responsible for UCB Japan's purchasing activities, especially indirect procurement operations.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities

 Lead or support the day-to-day operations of Source to Pay (S2P) as the first tier of contact for both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
 Implement, apply and ensure compliance with purchasing processes (both transactional and procurement processes) based on current and future UCB Global Purchasing Principles and Guidelines, considering relevant country-specific commercial, statutory and tax laws.
 Develop country procurement plans based on the procurement strategies defined by the Global Category Manager, optimize cost effectiveness and negotiate local purchasing agreements in line with country-specific business, legal and financial requirements.
 Maximize global purchasing category negotiation tools and agreements to realize potential total cost optimization opportunities and other cross-regional/cross-functional synergies.
 Identify, propose and implement purchasing best practices to continuously improve transactional, operational and procurement processes in alignment with UCB internal and external best practices.
 Share goals and policies with stakeholders necessary to execute customer engagement strategies and collaborate
 Convening global and external meetings, taking minutes, moderating, gathering opinions, and building consensus
 Conduct regular supplier evaluations
 Conduct Procure to Pay (P2P) training for internal stakeholders as needed
 Self-directed creation of an environment, including collaboration with necessary stakeholders, to enable effective customer engagement activities
 Build trusting relationships with necessary stakeholders at the manager level to execute strategies and activities.
 Develop and grow your skills to improve customer engagement
 Understand your expected role, set appropriate performance goals, and evaluate yourself
 Understand your own performance evaluation and take the initiative to take on further challenges and improve your performance.

Education & Qualifications

Education Level : Bachelor's Degree

Experience :

 Multiple years of extensive purchasing experience in indirect purchasing and in a similar position in the pharmaceutical industry
 Experience in achieving purchasing strategies with strong negotiation skills
 Experience making presentations to internal and external stakeholders and employees
 Experience working in cross-functional teams
 Familiarity with the plan, execute, evaluate, and improve cycle
 Business-level English (enough to answer questions at global conferences)
 IT knowledge: Knowledge of MS Office, SAP, Ariba, and ERP
